This course reviews transverse and longitudinal stability, gives examples of stability calculations and describes the use of the loading manual and loading computer. The particular stability requirements for grain and the actions to take in the event of flooding and liquefaction are discussed. This will be particularly useful for deck officers who have not previously sailed on dedicated bulk carriers. It will also act as a refresher for Management level with previous bulk carrier experience.
