The aim of this course is for the learner to understand the objectives of AIS, know how AIS works as a system, recognize the benefits and limitations of AIS, the decision making process with the use of AIS, entering and checking AIS data, the practical use of AIS, sending and responding to safety/security related messages and finally, familiarization of the AIS onboard. The AIS training course is developed in accordance with the 2010 Manila amendments of the STCW Convention and Code and IMO model course 1.34.

The course provides theoretical and practical training for deck officers in the AIS system architecture, technical principles and important operational aspects.

On completion of this course you will receive a Documentary Evidence from Ocean Technologies Group, powered by Marlins, Seagull and Videotel.
