90,00

This e-learning module is for management level and looks at elements such as how to organize and train a firefighting team onboard, know-how of firefighting onboard as well as investigating and report writing of incidents involving fire.

If a fire broke out onboard ship today, are we as prepared as we need to be? In the first of two e-learning modules for Advanced Firefighting, we look at the importance of having robust procedures for fighting fires which are well planned and practiced during drills, and revised in the light of experience and changing circumstances on board. We also look at the critical first actions that should be taken when a fire breaks out.

This module can be used to accompany initial training, or to refresh Advanced Firefighting knowledge onboard ship.

Learning objectives:

  • Plan realistic fire drills that build the resilience of the crew for dealing with fires
  • List the first actions to take in the event of a fire
  • Evaluate the relative advantages of using direct firefighting methods or using a fixed system to extinguish a fire.
