IALA Buoyage

Buoys are used for guidance in a channel but are also used to mark dangers. This is why it is extremely important for navigators to have a good understanding of this subject to assist the safe conduct of navigation.

This course teaches the student about how the IALA Maritime Buoyage System works, including the characteristics and purpose of individual buoys and marks in different areas of the world and how they appear on a chart.
