Awareness of lifeboat release and retrieval systems

90,00

All lifeboat and rescue boat release and retrieval systems should be maintained in accordance with manufacturers operating and maintenance procedures and should be carried out as per Maritime Safety Circular MSC.1/Circ 1206 Rev 1 and MSC.1/Circ 1277.

There have been numerous lifeboat incidents over the years. Many officers and crewmembers have therefore become wary of lifeboat release systems. This course is designed to help crews develop confidence in the launching and retrieval of side-launched lifeboats. The module describes the basic operation of a generic lifeboat release and retrieval system. It also explains general routine maintenance to be carried out ensuring that a lifeboat can be reliably launched and retrieved.

Please note that this module is only intended for vessels fitted with davit or side-launched totally-enclosed lifeboats.

On completion of this course you will receive a Verification of Training from Ocean Technologies Group powered by Marlins, Seagull and Videotel.
