Hot work, Management of hot work

Despite the efforts of industry bodies and companies to reduce accidents, all too often Hot work operations are still just the smallest spark away from disaster. Hot work on ships continues to cause serious fires and explosions and has led to numerous deaths and serious injuries. Too often these incidents have occurred because people forgot or failed to follow control procedures or became complacent that everyone knew what the safety precautions should be.
