Seafarers’ Mental health and wellbeing

0,00

Seafarers work under unique conditions that can lead to high levels of stress, often with limited opportunities for relief compared to life on shore.

Our Mental Health and Wellbeing course for seafarers focuses on practical, positive steps they can take to support their own wellbeing and that of their fellow crew members.

Developed by Videotel in collaboration with ISWAN – the International Seafarers’ Welfare and Assistance Network – this training course looks at how seafarers can strengthen their mental health and resilience to better handle the challenges of life at sea.

Learning objectives:

  • Know how to find appropriate shore support when needed
  • Recognize signs of mental health problems or when people might be finding it difficult to cope and to know what to do about it
  • Make trainees better suited to having conversation with others around mental health problems
  • Be aware of the impact that mental health and wellbeing issues can have on individuals and the importance of actively working towards enhancing them
