SIRE 2.0, The ship inspection
30,00 €
The profitability of an independent oil tanker owner’s operation is dependent upon being accepted by SIRE subscribers, such as major oil companies, oil and energy traders, as charterers. The decision to hire a third-party tanker depends to a great extent upon a ship’s good SIRE reports.
The information from distributed company’s SIRE inspection reports can make or break the reputation of the tanker owner.
The responses and behavior when asked to demonstrate equipment or answer questions by the SIRE vetting inspector can be critical to the outcome of the inspection if they put doubt in the inspectors mind about competency of the escorting officer or how well the tanker is being managed or maintained.
The main aim of this course is to provide the learner with the knowledge to be able to understand the inspection process and recognize the behaviors and responses that would meet the SIRE vetting inspector’s expectation.
Learning objectives:
- Recognize the preparation required for a junior officer for escorting an inspector during part of the SIRE vetting inspection
- Describe how an inspector typically conducts a SIRE vetting inspection
