Security awareness

Security Awareness is intended for seafarers and crew who do not have designated security duties. It will give the required knowledge to enhance maritime security awareness by recognizing security threats, and understanding the need for and methods of maintaining security awareness and vigilance. Due to the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and SOLAS chapter XI-1 and XI-2.

Learning objectives:

• identify the essential contents of the Ship Security Plan regarding Security Officers
• Learn the security measures needed at different security levels
• Identify what is the ISPS Code and its function in shipping
• Main security duties for shipboard personnel
• Learn the main requirements of the ISPS Code
• Identify the main requirements of the ISPS Code regarding recording and assessing
• Learn the security measures needed at different security levels on board cargo ships and tankers
