Description
- STCW 2010 A-III/1, III/7
40,00 €
Developing the series on electric propulsion, this module covers the various types of power devices used in electrical propulsion systems. It explains the principles of rectification and inversion but also looks at maintenance requirements and how power electronic devices act as interfaces between electric propulsion control systems and power networks.
This course is the third in a series of four on the subject of electric propulsion. STCW 2010 requires OOW engineers to have knowledge of electrical motors and starting technologies, and need to be able to detect faults.
The seafarers in charge of electric propulsion systems need to know how to maintain them and how the systems work. This includes rectification and inversion knowledge and interfacing of electric propulsion control systems and power networks but also how to avoid failure.
