There are a wide variety of gas carriers in operation today using several different types of cooling systems. Those faced with operating such systems sometimes lack the theoretical knowledge or operational experience to operate these plants in the best way. This course focus is on the main components of the gas cooling plant, and the most important operational checks that they require.
This course identifies the main types of Gas Carriers used today, which cargoes they are suited for, how the cargo tanks are insulated, and what method is used to control the pressure in the cargo. The main components of the gas cooling plants are then described, along with the most important operational checks that they require.
