Many accidents are caused or made worse by poor human relations on board. Tragedies such as the Costa Concordia demonstrate the need for effective communication and teamwork if crews are to complete their journeys safely and to the best of their ability.

This course on Human Relations highlights the importance of good relations for safe and effective teamwork. This course identifies positive steps to take to prevent seafarers from feeling isolated and to help everyone on board cope with the challenges of life at sea.
