Dropped objects are still a major cause of injury to seafarers. Sometimes, they are caused by an object that has been incorrectly slung. One of the problems is that there are so many types of sling available. Poorly slung objects can fall, causing damage to the object itself and the ship’s equipment and fittings.

The aim of this course is to enable seafarers to safely use lifting and slinging equipment. It provides knowledge about different equipment used for a lifting operation. It also includes the correct use of slinging equipment and how to perform lifting equipment user check.
