This course covers the procedures used when a ship unloads dry bulk cargoes: developing and using an unloading plan, the ship-shore safety checklist, other documentation required, precautions during unloading, avoiding stevedore damage, duties of the watchkeepers and dealing with cargo residues. This will be particularly useful for deck officers who have not previously sailed on dedicated bulk carriers. It will also act as a refresher for management level with previous bulk carrier experience.
