This course describes the efficient operation of a wide range of more advanced gas carrier cargo cooling plants, and with the help of pressure enthalpy diagrams, how to deal with common problems. The course will be particularly useful for those sailing on LPG/LEG carriers

Learning objectives:

• Briefly describe the operating principles of indirect cargo cooling systems
• Describe common types of direct cargo cooling systems, including single stage, two stage, and double expansion types
• Show the operation of common types of direct cargo cooling systems on a pressure enthalpy diagram
• Describe a cooling plant which uses a cascade cycle and show the cycle on a Pressure-Enthalpy (P-h) diagram
