INS – Integrated Navigation System

45,00

The most important part in any Integrated Navigation System is a highly qualified operator.  Like with any navigational system, correct guidance must always be available to ensure safe and effective journeys.

Informing learners about the difference between an INS and an IBS, this course provides seafarers with a basic education on the sub-system’s main functions, whilst providing a general basic knowledge of the operation and use of an INS system.

Learning objectives:

  • The trainees are made aware of the limitations of INS and how to reduce the effect of these limitations
  • The trainees will learn how an OOW of a ship with an INS on the bridge will be influenced when performing practical navigational tasks
  • The course shows how an integrated navigation system is built up together with its sub-systems
