Seafarer appraisal

For any seafarer to feel positive and committed to their work, it is important that they feel valued. Without measuring their performance and offering them feedback that can help them improve, people often feel undervalued, creating an apathetic attitude that makes crewmembers feel dissatisfied. For this reason, appraisals are very necessary for job satisfaction and personal growth.

Aimed at management level officers on board ships and human resource/crewing managers ashore, this module describes the appraisal process and highlights the important part an effective Performance Appraisal System plays in attracting and retaining competent staff.
