50,00

Throughout history, advances in technology have meant that humankind has needed to find new ways of protecting themselves. This is no different on board a vessel, where certain tasks require specific equipment to protect workers against physical damage and exposure to harmful liquids as well as protection from cold, heat and a lack of oxygen.

The aim of this course is to show how the correct Personal Protective Equipment promotes safe working.

Learning objectives:

  • State what is meant by Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Identify that a good safety culture promotes the use of PPE in the work area
  • Recognize that PPE should be inspected before use
  • State that PPE when not worn should be safely stored
  • Recognize that the correct PPE should be worn for each work activity
