The effective response to an oil spill requires high trained personnel working to a well-developed plan that has been adequately resourced and regularly exercised. This course is highly interactive and engaging, which help crew to effectively retain knowledge for these type of incidents and ensure that it does not result in a pollution incident. As well as considering the ways oil spills occur during cargo operations or when bunkering, this course shows how an oil spill is contained on board and then cleaned up. It also gives guidance on how crewmembers can protect themselves from the toxic effects of spilled oil.
